Looking for a background artist to join my team. (Hopefully a paid job.)

Howdy everypeoples!

I'm looking for a solid background artist and animator who is willing to work with me on a rather large project. I'm wanting to put together a team and some solid concept art for the game I'm writing and do a Kickstarter campaign to fund the development. I would like to have an artist in mind to work with me before trying kickstarter so I know how much money is needed for us to stay afloat while developing the game.

The game will have the humorous feel of the old Lucas Arts games Day of the Tentacle, or Sam and Max Hit the Road. If you don't have any clue what I'm talking about when I give you those titles well... do some research if you want to be taken seriously.

The goal with this game will be to sell it as a downloadable game like Mechinarium. NOT a free online flash game, though there will more than likely be a demo that will be released. I'm currently writing the script and plotting out all the puzzles.

I have a rough story arc that spans several games (episodes), and if the first game does well then it would grow from there.

I have just incorporated my company and I'm really taking this seriously. Money will of course be tight but being a productive part of the team would entitle you to a percentage of the revenue from game sales.

So if you are a fantastic artist who isn't in high school, or going to college soon or whatever, and you are willing to help me with a project that will take several months of work and doesn't pay very well up front let me know. I would love to take a look at your artwork here on Newgrounds or Deviant art and let you know what I think.

I have a few other projects that I'm finishing up soon and the first thing that will be needed is some concept art to show in the Kickstarter campaign. Also having the ability to record a bit of video of yourself and send it to me would be awesome. SUPER DUPER EXTRA bonus points if you live near Chicago.

As a sample of what I'm looking for here is some concept art from a game called Torchlight. I find that this style, perhaps a bit more simplified will be what we will be going after. I didn't draw this art, I just don't want to post to much about the game online yet if I can help it so I'm using this as an example of the style I would prefer.

I hope to hear from you.

wow those spammers are even spamming blogs now.. What the hell has newgrounds become!! Tom get in here and fix this shit.
Anyways, I wish I could do art for you, but I can't draw for shit.

But that image above is nice a purty though! Anyway, I could be a beta tester if you are making a Mac version :)

Are you using Machinarium as an example of a downloadable game versus free flash or as an example of what you want to achieve? Because part of it's success is the unique look and funny characters, so you do need to bring something fresh and new to the table to achieve such success.

My point is the Torchlight concept art looks pretty, but nothing we haven't seen before.

Sounds exciting man, no doubt this will turn out great

If I can say anything.. working with Dave is tough but in the end you will have a great final product to show for it. :)

Tough in a good way, he's very critical of your arts but that's the only way you get better

I'd offer but I don't think my style is what you're after, but if it may work, I'd like to hear more about it.

Yeeeeeeeesss!!! I pray this project is a great success. I miss the old Lucas Arts games :)

By the way, if you need any help writing give me a shout! I played through most lucas arts/sierra adventure games and I suspect most of my humour derives from them. I have written plays and film scripts among other things and consider dialogue one of my strengths. I would also be pretty good at error messages and death explanations :P
